final day: theatre performance
It was a Good night, very good, did the 1st performance I have ever professionally done with script, it went okay, however I did manage to slip on my lines towards the end of both acts, I think it was because of the change in audience, possibly because my nerves shook me. However, in the end I kept my cool and styled it out. It must have worked reason being nobody realised that I had and so I was relieved. I must say if I had to have a down to my performance, that would have been it. Apart from that, I did well. I enjoyed watching everyone perform there monologues, the piece really came together well, I can finally see that that as a class we are building some chemistry. It is starting to become a warming environment to be in. In terms of self evaluation, I'd say that I could have done better if I had uses more body language as, using the thrust stage set up, I ended up on performing to two sides with my back to the face, if I had use larger body movements, it would have told my story more effectively, again, I believe it is because I wasn't fully enganged physically with my character role, however I feel I got into the mind of phill as a person quite effectively.

Task 4
I believe that we are a product of our environment because we interpret our lifestyles based on our surroundings and we evolve to what suits our society best. This is so we can allow ourselves to be fully in function with our peers and follow the norms of that society. norms vary pending on the society you are in so u would act differently if you were in a poor society and in a rich society because they have different ways of living life. this would make you be a different person to your current self.
Task 3
Our backstory was that leah is an only child who hasn't got may people to talk to in her house. her mum and dad always ignore her and go out leaving her alone. she feels as if her parents dont love her and she finds it upsetting, so she tries to release her pain in talking but when she has nobody to talk to, she doesn't deal with her emotions very well. It is important to understand the characters backstory so that you are be able to become the character and be able to know based on her backstory how they would react to certain situations.we created a short piece which showed leah in her house with her and her parents in her house, she tries to make conversation with them but it doesn't work because they just ignore her and leave her alone in the house. she feels alone and so decides to call her closest friends but none of them answer the phone other than phil. he answers the phone but doesn't respond to anything she says and eventually hangs up. she then feels as if she has nobody and then starts to cry on her chair. I cannot remember fully what the other groups did however i know that phil's group made him start off silent and slowly bubbles up inside until he shouts because his family have pushed him over the limit.

I thought that the play 'D.N.A' was a very well structured play. just from reading the script i understood and could imagine how the play would look if performed. i quite liked the play because it explained so much in the text. i believe the character Phil was a leading character in the play because everyone seemed to follow his orders. The character Cathy was always asking him questions and nagging him for pointless reasons, but he would ignore her maybe because he wasnt interested or because he was upset with her for past reasons. Adam was the character that was meant to be dead but in the end he was alive and living in the woods up a hill. it all comes together towards the end of the play which allows the reader or watcher to understand fully what happens throughout the play. a character only identified as a 'fat postman' got arrested because the friends of Adam peer pressured him into his supposed 'death' and then stiched it up by giving false evidence to the murder. without intention, they dropped a false suspect in their position. overall, i think it was interesting and intensive throughout. good read. hopefully a good watch.
